There is nothing like a move to help you get rid of things. You don't realize how much stuff you have accumulated until you start packing up for a move. We have been in our current office location for over 25 years. In that time, we have stuck away many training booklets, seminar materials, old guidelines and just about everything else. So obviously it was a good time to start cleaning out.
We unloaded some old PCs at the recycle center and cleaned out some drawers and closets.
I even found some old software that I cannot believe was still here.
When I bought my first PC for the agency, I also purchased a word processing program (called Lotus AmiPro), a general ledger program from Computer Associates, and SuperCalc4. That was the precursor to Excel, like Lotus 123. How many of you remember those names? I even found my binder of newsletters I sent out as the editor and founder of the Victoria Computer Users Group back in the early 90's.
So this old timer is getting to feel a little older as he combs through the papers and organizes his stuff so that he can move in with a clean and tidy set up.
Although many of our long time clients may forget and stop in at the old office, we know that they will enjoy our new place when they get there. I am glad that the new location is not all that far from the old one. But being on Crestwood and adding a new large sign should help more Victorians know about us.
